Grove Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Grove (“the app”) handles information.

Summary

• Grove does not require an account.
• Grove does not include third-party analytics or ad tracking.
• Your notes and data are stored locally on your device by default.
• If you enable optional sync features, data may be synced through Apple iCloud/CloudKit under your Apple account.
• If you configure an external AI provider, content you submit to AI features is sent to that provider to generate responses.

Data We Process

Grove can process the following categories of data that you create inside the app:

• Notes, boards, tags, connections, and related content
• App preferences and settings
• Optional URLs and metadata associated with saved items

How Data Is Stored

• Local storage: Grove stores app data locally on your device by default.
• Optional cloud sync: If enabled by you, Grove may use Apple iCloud/CloudKit for synchronization across your devices.

In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Grove offers an optional Pro subscription through Apple’s App Store. Purchase and billing information is handled entirely by Apple and is subject to Apple’s privacy policy. Grove does not directly collect or store payment information.

AI Features

Grove includes optional AI-assisted features. If you enable and use these features:

• Your prompt/context may be sent to the configured AI provider.
• Provider processing is subject to that provider’s terms and privacy policy.
• You are responsible for reviewing and selecting your provider configuration.

Tracking and Advertising

• Grove does not use advertising SDKs.
• Grove does not track you across apps or websites.

Data Sharing

Grove does not sell personal data.

Data may be shared only when required to deliver features you explicitly use, such as:

• Apple iCloud/CloudKit (if sync is enabled)
• Configured AI provider endpoints (if AI features are used)

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is stored on your device and/or in your iCloud account. You can delete your data at any time by removing it within the app or by uninstalling the app. Grove does not retain data on external servers.

Your Rights

You can:

• Use Grove fully in local-only mode
• Disable sync features
• Disable AI features or avoid submitting sensitive content
• Delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app

Children’s Privacy

Grove is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated over time. Material updates will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
