Plein Air is designed to respect your privacy completely. This policy explains what the app does — and, more importantly, what it does not do — with your information.
The short version
Plein Air does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
Information we collect
None. The app has no sign-in or account system and does not ask you to provide any personal information. We do not operate any server that receives data from the app.
Location
Plein Air does not request or access your device's location. The maps in the app show the locations of paintings only; the app never determines or records where you are.
On-device data
Any choices you make in the app — such as marking a spot as visited or liking a painting — are stored only on your device. This information never leaves your device and is not visible to us or anyone else. Deleting the app removes it.
Analytics, advertising & tracking
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software development kits (SDKs). We do not use cookies or any similar technology, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
Third-party content
Paintings shown in the app are in the public domain. Present-day comparison photographs are sourced from Wikimedia Commons under their respective free licenses, with attribution shown in the app. Displaying this content does not involve collecting any information about you.
Children's privacy
Because the app collects no data whatsoever, it collects nothing from children. It is safe for users of all ages, subject to its App Store age rating.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Since the app collects no data, we do not anticipate material changes.
